PRIDE Center Meeting Minutes November 1, 2010
Present: Emma, Tanner, Sarah, Tristen, Josh, General Members
1. Welcome (start 7:10 pm)
1.1. Additions to Agenda
1.1.1. None.
1.2. Approve previous meeting minutes
1.2.1. They are approved.
2. Reports
2.1. Treasurer
2.1.1. Tristen is leaving us at the end of the semester because he will be done school and is super smart. This means we need a new Treasurer.
2.1.2. We will vote for a new treasurer at the next meeting on November 15.
2.1.2.1. So if you are a U of L student and not currently on the Executive, please consider applying for the position.
2.1.3. Whoever becomes the new Treasurer will shadow Tristen until the end of the semester, to get a feel for the position.
2.1.4. If no one wants to be Treasurer the position falls to Tanner, the Vice-President.
2.2. Trick or Eat
2.2.1. We did not win as only 2 people showed up for both parts.
2.2.1.1. There were some issues that we will try to correct when we do it again next year.
3. Upcoming events
3.1. Volunteer fair
3.2. November 4th 10am-2pm in the Atrium
3.3. Emma is going to set up the table, and sit.
3.3.1. Please show up and sit.
3.3.1.1. We need people to help in the Resource Centre, and for events such as Food Drives, Queeraoke, and Valentines is Such a Drag.
3.4. Movie night – November 8th 7pm
3.4.1. Anderson Hall 116
3.4.1.1. We are watching 8: The Mormon Proposition and C.R.A.Z.Y.
4. Outside events
4.1. GIRLS ROCK! – November 3rd 7pm
4.1.1. CKXU FUNdrive Film Screening
4.1.2. In Galileo’s Lounge
4.2. GALA/LA Women’s Dance – Saturday November 13th 9pm-2am
4.2.1. Moose Hall
4.3. GALA/LA Men’s Dance- Saturday November 27th 9pm-2am
4.3.1. Moose Hall
4.4. Transgender Awareness Week – November 13-20
4.4.1. GALA/LA Film Fest (with Rhino in the Room)
4.4.1.1. A date has not been set, neither has a venue.
4.4.2. Trans art and Memorial Display November 19th and 20th
4.4.3. If we are feeling ambitious we could do something
4.4.3.1. Maybe help GALA/LA with space for Film Fest?
5. Resource Centre
5.1. There are financial issues.
5.1.1. At the next SU General Assembly they are going to try to get us some more money.
6. OUTspoken
6.1. A tentative schedule is set and Tyson is going to talk to Nate.
6.2. We need to start trying to get money and fixing proposals
6.2.1. The budget is going to take a while to sort out.
7. Young and Outspoken
7.1.1. A few people showed up.
7.1.2. Next Monday, a couple people are going to the GALA/LA Meeting to determine if we will partner with them or do something on our own.
8. Valentine’s is Such a Drag
8.1. We need to start planning right now.
8.1.1. Emma is going to talk to Amanda to see if the Activities Committee will take on this project or if it will be a separate committee.
8.1.1.1. Emma will be the head of the committee for now until she talks to Amanda.
8.1.1.1.1. Emmanuel, Billie, and Tanner want to be on the committee.
8.1.1.1.2. If you want to be on the committee let us know, we want as much help as we can get.
8.1.2. Venue Suggestions
8.1.2.1. The Owl?
8.1.3. Performance Suggestions
8.1.3.1. Not just drag performances. Instead allow singers, bands (such as Gender Missionaries) or musicians (Josh and his loverly violin), etc.

9.1. Dinner Theatre?
